Guest guest
Yesterday I was diagnosed with shingles and have questions that someone in the group may be able to answer. They are: 1. How long are you typically off of work with shingles? Since I work for a pharmaceutical manufacturer (not the one that makes the shingles vaccine Zostavax...) being contagious will be the limiting factor. 2. Can shingles cause issues, i.e., fatigue, headaches, node discomfort, for any great length of time prior to surfacing? By the way, mine surfaced on the left forehead and left eye (which, thankfully, is only a little inflamed). My doctor prescribed Prednisone, Valtrex, and pain killers and my eye doctor prescribed anti-viral drops and ointment. After one day I already feel pretty good and the pain is much better--still not great but significantly better. Any information would be helpful and greatly appreciated. Thanks, Chris
