Guest guest
Hello Robin, Some of your red blood cells are abnormal in size, and they vary in size. It sounds as though you have some anemia, which explains your fatigue. I expect your oncologist will expand on the consequences specific to you when you have your next appointment. Are you still W & W? This is a link to Wikipedia's article on anemia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anemia Wishing you well also, Kay dx 2009 at age 54 On May 18, 2011, at 7:22 PM, Robin wrote: Greetings all. In a recent CBC I saw a notation that I haven't seen before. Anisocytosis 2+ & Macrocytosis 1+. I won't be able to see my Onc for a week and just wondered if anyone can tell me about these. RBC is 3.06 & hmg is at 10.6. WBC 90.7. Feeling more fatigue than usual. Wishing you all well, Robin dx 2004 CLL at age
Guest guest
anisocytosis means variation in red cell size, macrocytosis means that some red cells are slightly bigger than normal. I wouldn't worry about it. Terry Hamblin In a message dated 19/05/2011 robin writes: In a recent CBC I saw a notation that I haven't seen before. Anisocytosis 2+ & Macrocytosis 1+. Guest guest
Many thanks for the answers, on and offline regarding the CBC results. Dr. T, I appreciate your input, it is reasurring. Hi Kay, yes, I am still W & W, it's now been almost 7 years. The only reason I would want to treat now would be if someone could guarentee that I'd have a bit more energy (which to the best of my knowledge isn't possible)and I wouldn't mind not having the night sweats, but I can live with these. BTW, what are the options, if any, for treating my anemia? Movin' slow in California, Robin
