and All,

Several members have offered sources on reading the CBC;

here's one more I like:

Understanding the CBC, Maureen Habel, RN, MA, CRRN, at RnCeus:

http://www.rnceus.com/course_frame.asp?exam_id=14 & directory=cbc

Although RN Ceus is a continuing education website for

nursing professionals (payment required for credit), anyone

can read the course material for free. Access to the course

material on complete blood counts (CBC) is in the Table of

Contents on the left side of the page. Other courses can be

accessed by clicking on " Course catalog " at the top of the page.

I found the information clear and informative throughout the site.

Regards,

Tim Klug

In the past, when I've had questions about CBCs, whether

basic or more complicated, I've turned to Dr.

LeClair's discussions of CBCs and the issues around the

tests warm, human and enlightening. CBCs are her " thing. "

Her website: http://www.acor.org/leukemia/susan.htm

She is Professor of Medical Laboratory Science, Department

of Medical Laboratory Science, U. of Mass. Dartmouth and has

lectured at leukemia/lymphoma conferences I've been to. If

you don't see what you're looking for, email her. She's

always responded to my emails.
