Guest guest
Ramona, Some of the new kinase inhibitors nay also help platelet counts. Mighty tempting. With my ITP and CLL, I am considering a trial, but not until I need treatment. Nothing is free or without risk, including doing nothingm but that is the option I am choosing right now. Guest guest
I agree. If I don't need it, I don't need it. But, I am trying to make 2 points. was saying that once that trials become available no one will participate, even though we complain that we want them and quicker approval of new medication. I am willing. Dr. Byrd said it is still an option, when I do need it. But how long can the study last and it won't be available? I don't meet criteria for most Cal 101 or PCI 32765 trials (and if I understand, PCI 32765 works better on the immune system). I took it that these were to prevent having to get " real " chemo, not in place of. Dr. Byrd said that chemo could make my ITP worse, which is why he mentioned the inhibitors. My second point is that I am making decisions based on what he is telling me and mentally preparing for them. Then he says " you don't need it yet " . > > Ramona, > > Some of the new kinase inhibitors nay also help platelet counts. > Mighty tempting.
