Guest guest
Dr. Neil Kay of the Mayo Clinic who did the Phase I and II clinical trials of Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) and CLL, reported to Schorr of Patient Power in a video interview, that the company that made the highly pure form of EGCG, Polyphenon E, (Mitsui Norin Co., Ltd. of Japan) has decided they will not proceed further with a Phase III clinical trial in CLL patients, but will concentrate their efforts on solid tumour cancers. Dr. Kay, suggests that EGCG could perhaps be used in combination with other drugs and they continue to work to see if clinical trials in combination with other treatments may be possible in the future.
