Guest guest
Vicki, 5 or 6? It's the depth of the remission that matters not the numbers. Are you in CR? Do you have MRD? Terry Hamblin MD
Guest guest
Having had two emergency hospitalizations in the middle of treatment, round the clock benadryl and tylenol both before and after treatment, in addition to IV steroids prevented the reaction from getting worse. Guest guest
Dr. Hamblin, I feel that I am in remission and my Onc is very pleased with my response but has never said the words " complete remission " . She is no longer able to manually feel any swollen lymph nodes and my blood test numbers rebound nicely toward the end of the 28 day chemo cycle. Is there a list of criteria to be met that indicates complete remission? Also from your response, am I to understand that if you are in remission after four treatments, having six treatments does not mean a longer time of remission? Thanks for your quick response and sorry if I am asking dumb questions. Vicki On Thu, Jun 23, 2011 at 9:06 AM, Terry Hamblin MD wrote: > Vicki, > 5 or 6? Guest guest
Vicki, Complete remission means fewer than 30% lymphocytes in a BMB. MRD negativity can be done on a blood test at special labs. Guest guest
Vicki: Genzyme does MRD (Minimum Residual Disease) testing using blood sample or bone marrow aspirate and four color flow cytometry. Here is the link to their website, your doctor can get the test codes etc from here. http://www.genzymegenetics.com/Our-Services/Oncology-Testing/cll-mrd-testing.asp\ x or http://tinyurl.com/688x7zz Larry > Complete remission means fewer than 30% lymphocytes in a BMB. > MRD negativity can be done on a blood test at special labs. > > > In a message dated 23/06/2011 Vicky writes: > /message/15420
