Guest guest
Patti, Many years ago I read a study that showed that baking soda was good for controlling tarter, so I started brushing with a soft toothbrush and baking soda. Then I read (and my dentist confirmed) that Listerine helps to control tarter, so I added using that in my water pick. Of course, the next thing I read was that using a water pic can cause problems for those of us with a mitral valve prolapse, so now I dip the toothbrush in Listerine, then baking soda to brush and rinse with Listerine. I know some of you are thinking about the taste, but it really didn't take long to get used to it. I have had almost no plaque since starting this routine. I don't remember where I read about water pics and bacteria, but I'm sure one of the researchers on the site will come up with a reference.
