Guest guest
I have been a member of this group for some time but have not participated in any of the conversations but have learned a lot. I now have a question that I hope someone can help me with. I was diagnosed with SLL/CLL in 2008 but did not need treatment until recently. In February I began treatment with FCR. I have completed five courses of treatment. After course four I developed a fever that put me in the hospital for several days. Now after completing round five last Friday, I am once again in the hospital with " Neutropenic Fever " and very low white blood counts (0.5). My Hematalogist/Onc is considering the advisablity of doing another round of FCR. My question to the group is: has anyone come across any research concerning the effects of five rounds of FCR versus six in the length of progression free survival? Would you not consider the size of the individual or whether that person is male or female? (I am a small framed female - 141 lbs) The recommended dose is four to six courses of treatment. I am looking for any research that will help me in making the decision to do a sixth course or stop now. Thank you for your help. Vicki of Kansas 2008 - Diagnosed SLL/CLL, watch and wait 2011 - began FCR treatment, currently finished 5 rounds
