Guest guest
A connection between amount of Vitamin D in the blood and speed of progression of CLL has been found, according to Mayo Clinic studies. The article can be found at: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2010/11/101104094038.htm Over the years I've read hundreds of articles making claims about nutrition, vitamins, herbs, etc. Most never get funded for serious studies; most are not considered valid by major holistic health/medical websites. The debates continue. But this study is by one of the most acclaimed medical facilities in the U.S., so attention must be paid. Whether you raise this with your oncologist is up to you and whether your oncologist is willing to read the article is up to him/her. I've been on Vitamin D3 supplements ever since a metabolism test found my levels of calcium and D shockingly low. I urge all CLLers to have their metabolism tested today. This one may really help. An article related to this topic discusses how mineral oil, which many take to relieve constipation, may deplete Vitamin D in the body. http://tinyurl.com/3na9w4g or http://www.livestrong.com/article/477784-mineral-oil-vitamin-d-depletion/ Best, Frances
