The FCR regimen was administered to 284 previously treated patients with CLL.

Patients were assessed for response and progression by 1996 NCI-WG criteria for

CLL and followed for survival.

The overall response rate - 74%

Complete remission - 30%

The 'estimated' median overall survival - 47 months

Median progression-free survival for all patients was 21 months.

Patients were most suitable for FCR treatment---

patients with up to 3 prior treatments

fludarabine-sensitive patients irrespective of prior rituximab exposure

patients without chromosome 17 abnormalities.

When I first went to MDACC I was offered FCR for SCLL.

I turned it down in favor of W & W.

I still have not needed any treatment.

Read, read, read anything you can get your hands on before you sign on to a

treatment; stay tuned to this board.

In the ensuing yrs there are many more less toxic ones out there.
