I second 's suggestion that someone knowledgeable on the issues compose

a letter we could use to send to our congressional representatives or

others. (List managers: Would this be permissible to do via this ACOR

list?) A number of folks on this list know a lot about the issue, so

perhaps several people could put their heads together and come up with

something? I don't know much about it myself, and it would help me do my

part more effectively. This is such an important matter for all of us.

Oops! :) I responded too quickly and didn't pay attention to which list I

had read or responded to. I just realized I framed the previous message as

though it were part of the acor list. But my support of the idea is still

there.

Agreed that this is a good idea.

p.s. We should not feel obligated to have only one approach. We can try

several.

Subject: re lobbying for change with the FDA

I have no sense of how political lobbying works but I would suggest that we

email our own congressman (House reps and Senators) daily on this matter.

Perhaps someone could compose an appropriate email message on this point,

encompassing the issues for CLL as well as the general issue and this

template

could be provided for all who choose it to use and to use repeatedly. I

would

hope that the List Managers would agree to include a reminder about the

importance of the message and a copy to be included with each issue of the

digest (for folks like me who only read the digest) for the next year or so

until some helpful changes are made.
