Guest guest
I was diagnosed with CLL in 1990 and was advised that I could expect to live for around 7 years. In March this year it will be 21 years ago. The only treatments available in 1990 were Fludarabine and Chlorambucil. Things are very different now with many new treatments. It's important to recognise that median survival means that 50% of patients will survive longer than the median especially as new treatments become available. I believe it's important to stay positive and make the most of your life. In all probability you will live for many years. Clifford
Guest guest
Stefano - do not go by statistics - you are an individual, not a statistic - also, new things are happening every day - you have every chance to live a long and productive life - In a message dated 2/14/2011 10:11:13 A.M. I don't pretend to know what all this means. I was 34 when diagnosed and it's been 2 years since my last treatment so I have to say it's been quite successful thus far. It's hard to read all these articles as they all talk about a 8 to 10 year life span. Is there any truth to these articles? Everyone keeps telling me it's a wait and see process. My children are now 3 and 5. Here's hoping science progresses for all our sakes. Stefano
