- You need a hematologist with a speciality in CLL or

at the very least a hematologist with a great deal of

experience with CLL. If you go that route I would recommend

at the very least having a consult with a CLL specialist.

Many of the best will work through a more local doctor if

distance is a problem. If you give a general idea of where

you are people can give you names. You can also go to

lymphoma.org/booklets and look at the list of contributors

for the CLL booklet. Not everyone is there, but it does read

like a who's who among CLL specialists. You can read the

book on line or order copies. This is not something to play

around with and it sounds like your current doctor doesn't

know enough about CLL to be the right person for you.

Your initial testing is important. A CBC is useful for

watching for some CLL issues, but only gives part of the

picture.
