" Concomitant presence of breast cancer and CLL suggests that there may be a possible link between these two malignancies, either through chromosome 13 or an unidentified specific chromosomal abnormality which requires further investigations. Increased lymphocyte counts in breast cancer patients should alert surgeons to further investigate for concomitant leu- kemia since associated malignancies occur with an increased frequency in patients with CLL due to immune defects.
