Guest guest
A 6.5% deletion is probably not significant. Terry Hamblin MD Dave wrote: /message/15497 " I have 53P deletion 6.5% "
Guest guest
Lynn, I have wondered the same thing. I have 53P deletion 6.5%. I have thought until recently that I had 17P. But I understand they are the same. I had RF finishing 6 rounds in 7/05. I didn't have the test until two years later. My counts quickly went to normal during treatment, but were already at 12K by 6 months later. That makes me think that I had the deletion when treatment was started since it didn't hold for long. However I have required no additional treatment now for six years and have no other problems. My lymphs have bounced from 150K to 200K and back for over two years. But no need for treatment on the horizon which is all I care about. I will be concerned about the P53 when I next need treatment which will eventually happen if I live long enough. Until then I am not concerned about when the P53 happened. Statistics I read some time ago say that P17 or 53 CLLers have two to three years to live. I have made it 8 since DX and still expect to die of old age and not CLL. If you are currently having problems, I apologize if I appear flippant. But in my opinion stress and worry can do us great harm. Dave
