Guest guest
Tom is on the PCI trial at MD and his blood counts are finally showing improvement. I am guessing that his immune system is not improving due to the fact that he has been dx with scabies this year--(yeah, that was really fun because after a few months of intimate contact even my kick ass immune system got tired and I GOT scabies also. We were put in isolation for 3 days. the medication healed mine immediately but Tom's took two treatments by cream and another by oral meds. Last week he was dx with a childhood skin disease that is not seen in adults all that much. In fact, it is only seen in immunocompromised people if they are adults. It is from the pox virus and is not treatable with Valtrex. It is also highly contagious to anyone that you have contact with. (LUCKY ME) He had to have every single raised bump removed with a surgical tool as they said that was the only way to get rid of them if your immune system was compromised. The petichia like marks are not part of this disease and all drs remain quite puzzled by them so I am thinking that they are most likely a side effect from PCI. Is there anything that can be done for his puny immune system? Lou
