With regard to pertussis immunization, I have the statistics of the 1997

outbreak in North Idaho: 253 reported cases in five counties. Of those

cases, 81.5% had four out of four of their DTP shots. In Bonner County

alone, 85% had four out of four DTP shots and 15% had three out of

four DTP shots. In other words, in Bonner County (where we live) there

were zero reported cases among those who had two out of four, one out

of four OR zero DTP shots! Seems to me that the pertussis vaccine weakens

the body's immune system making one more susceptible to the " real thing "

rather than the reverse. By the way, I have the Panhadle Health District

and the CDC reports on this particular outbreak. They concluded that

vaccination status had no effect on this particular outbreak. And this

pediatrician should know that pertussis is NOT a deadly disease. The ones

who die while having this infection are -

1) already immune compromised

2) given inadequate treatment (no immune system enhancing modalities like

vit C and herbs)

3) given inappropriate treatment (coke floats and antibiotics...)

Just couldn't resist replying to this " herd " immunity CRAP! If the disease

is not a killer

and the vaccine doesn't prevent pertussis, can the pediatrician tell us " 1 "

good reason

to subject our children to it???
