Guest guest
Very helpful information on the Zantac, but I also noticed Dr. Hamblin's comment about IV gammaglobulin having a lack of effectiveness regarding prevention of infections. I take Zantac regularly for acid reflux, and I hope that will not diminish the ability to aid the flu vaccine. - I have heard very mixed suggestions regarding the use of IVIG treatment. Is there any consensus as to when this treatment can provide benefit, if at all? - I have heard speculative comments (recent literature) that IVIG might extend the benefit of rituximab, regardless of treatment schedule. I've had a well-respected hematologist suggest it for that reason, in addition to possible infection control. If Doctors Hamblin or Furman are watching, I would be interested in their reactions. I would also be interested in hearing from members who have added IVIG treatment for the winter months, or other. I have decided against IVIG to date, due to the lack of consensus about potential benefits, but I wish I were better-informed. Thanks, Mike Abrams
