Nasal wash with Mupirocin 2% ointment?

I had a very sore throat that seemed to go away, but left me

with a large 2x4cm node cluster and a CBC with many neuts

and baby neuts. My PCP prescribed Mupirocin added (1/2

inch) to a saline nasal wash, delivered by Neilmed device.

She said she prescribes this for patients with sinus

infections who cannot take antibiotics. She doesn't want me

to overuse the one that works for me (Cefuroxime) which I

have already taken two courses of for this infection.

I'm having a hard time getting the Mupirocin to integrate

with the saline solution .. its gooey like vaseline. Also,

the tube says " For dermatological use only " . My PCP is on

vacation, so I'm asking anyone who might be familiar with

this to post a response.
