Guest guest
My fcr experience was similar but I only completed 4 treatments had a serios pneumonia that put me in the hospital and a couple months later I finished only with the Rituxin! I was weak also I was 53 at the time! It was very scary for me! He's lucky to have you there just keep an eye on things and see a CLL expert! Good luck Suzanne almost 10 years since diagnosed and I am fighting as hard as I can to be here as long as I can! I'm having a big fundraiser this weekend a Jazz Cruise down the river in Ct. Guest guest
Hi - so sorry your dad is going through this. I'm not sure I understand. It seems like you know the counts, but you don't have any input from the oncologist. How are the counts being taken? While my experience with FR was not nearly so bad, I'm concerned that your dad's onc isn't taking action. Certainly if your dad doesn't want to call the oncologist, next week when your dad is due for treatment, you could have a serious talk with him (MD) about these low counts. In my experience, when counts were very low, they delayed treatment til they got them up again via transfusion and neuopogen. I don't know the urgency of your dad's situation, but it's not uncommon to delay treatment. Certainly it's in everyone's best interest to get those red cells up somewhat so that your dad will feel better - and so that the next treatment doesn't obliterate them further. Best of luck!
