My SIL just had her first yesterday(in Turkey).

I was amazed that she actually asked for a c-section!

There was nothing wrong with her or the baby. She was simply afraid of

labor,so she got sectioned before she ever went into labor. How sad.

Atleast she is bfing(at this point),but she doesn't seem to thrilled about

doing it(you know- the pain). And I am sure the child will be fully

vaccinated,so it will be interesting to see how the little one's health

compares to mine.

I have been trying to find out the vaccine schedule for there and

everyone(family or turkish government agencies) say it is the same as the

US,but I know it is not.The girl did not get a hepB or vitK(I know-not a

vaccine, but just wanted to mention.Maybe sectioned babies don't need vitK?)

Also my MIL said she won't get shots till she is one month old. Also I doubt

they do IPV,CP,or DTaP .But they might do BCG.

I am getting frustrated. Then ofcourse they complained about Nimet not being

vaccinated, because I brought up the fact that I need to know when my neice

has the OPV when we visit.

Anyway back to the c-section I am sad for her,but hey that is the birth she

wanted-to be knocked out and wake up with a baby. Whatever.
