Guest guest
If you are asking about the waiver...The company I work for offers the flu shot every year. Last year I signed up to get one. My son had just been dignosed with PDD & I knew (for the 1st time) what thimerisol was. They had me read & sign a form that said I was aware that the shot I was getting contained thimerisol. I went ahead & got one, but this year I declined. Recently I was upset that my mom's primary physician pressured her to have her annual flu shot that she has had for over 10 years and she told him that her kids didn't want her to get any more. He told her (and my step father) that they are perfectly safe, they only have a dead virus. I asked my step dad if he told them they had harmful mercury and aluminum in them and he said no he didn't. So he lied! Telling them it only had a dead virus. My mom has Alzheimer's now that I am convinced is because of all the flu shots she has gotten. And by the way, my mom did get the shot. Guest guest
: I don't have anything that indicates that ALL available flu vaccines contain thimerosal. I am sure that there are some individual dose vials manufactured that are thimerosal free, but they are hard to find I am told. Your sister should simply insist on seeing the package insert. If it contains thimerosal, it will indicate that with a " 0.01% Thimerosal " in the ingredients sections and a few other places. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Hi Amy, if it is not FluMist, the other vaccines are killed versions. Supposedly, anyone that comes in contact with that person shouldn't be affected. Why then do people get the flu after the vaccine? CDC states emphatically you cannot get the flu from the vaccine. > > Hi! > > I'm sorry to ask this question if it has been addressed already but > I'm in a time crunch because a relative wants to visit us soon who > will have received a flu shot within hours before coming over. Guest guest
I don't know for sure Amy. But I would personally ask your relative if they would mind either getting the shot after the visit, or wait an appropriate length of time (don't know how long this would be) before visiting. They say you can't catch the flu from the flu shot, yet I know that almost everyone does. They would have to be contagious if you ask me. But that is only my opinion. . Guest guest
Thanks, that's kind of what I was thinking too. It's actually my aunt's mother and she mentioned it to her and she thought it was probably best that she didn't come anyways. Amy Re: flu vaccine I don't know for sure Amy. Guest guest
Amy, I know you are not supposed to be able to get the flu from that shot, but my kids have caught the flu from my mom and her annual (killed virus) shot. And I have heard a few other people say the same thing. I agree with asking her to please postpone the shot. > > Hi! > > I'm sorry to ask this question if it has been addressed already but > I'm in a time crunch because a relative wants to visit us soon who > will have received a flu shot within hours before coming over. Guest guest
That's right. The flu vaccine contains mercury. But it's never a good idea to inject anything into your bloodstream. The pharmaceutical companies can't really improve on the workings of the bloodstream. It's amazing that they have convinced so many people that they have this power. Reminds me of the witch doctors of old. Guest guest
Bob, I am sorry for your loss and wish you much comfort. Sending positive thoughts your way, Sandy Flu Vaccine My friend, Arthur V. died a few weeks ago in the prime of life and while seemingly in excellent health. Upon closer inquest, I found that he died a few hours after receiving the flu shot. When we checked the death certificate, it read " heart failure " . I wonder how many of these so called " heart failure' cases are occurring as we speak.

Still I think it's important to state this fact, which is such an extremely important discovery, and suggest to people: Consider this, look into it, and you will find that this " outlandish " proposition is correct. Many things we are being told in society today (by the media etc) which are quite wrong, even absurdly so. The truth on them in many cases will sound " outlandish " at first. I think most people today do know or suspect that on many questions, the media and the politicians are lying terribly. So if they see some " outlandish " criticisms of what those forces are telling them, they will say: " Might be true, might be false. Let's check that out, if we can " (On viruses, they can too.) The proposition that vaccines are no good sounded " outlandish " to me not so long ago. It took some reading for me to get convinced that this is really so. Rolf M. Guest guest
this is basically my understanding. When they make the flu vaccine they use the most possible viruses that were known last year in the Southern Hemisphere. ( Asia, Austrailia etc) There are probably 100 potential ones to choose from. Then they make a vaccine to cover the strains that they chose. Sometimes it is hit and miss and sometimes it has to do with mutations in strains that it does not cover as well. Remember vaccines are developed from our immune response by building antibodies. I have never quite understood how they help our kids except that they are for viruses not bacterial and in most of our kids cases it is a humoral/Bcell deficiency not Tcell or viral. Any input would be interesting. So the bottom line is that yes the vaccine will protect us from some of the strains but maybe not all . So we best not become complacent since we have the vaccine. BARBIE flu vaccine We all got our flu shots in October. Now my mother calls and says she heard on the local news that this years vaccine is not going to do us any good. Something about the type of flu that is out there is a slight deviant from one of the types they put int he vaccine. Has anyone heard anything about this? Guest guest
Heard this about an hour ago in the immuno's lobby from other parents. Apparently one of our local schools had 59 percent absent today and almost all of them had the flu and had been vaccinated. They are even talking about closing schools here. Now this is hearsay, just funny that I had just heard it a bit ago. @...: fourdangers@...: Fri, 8 Feb 2008 13:16:55 -0800Subject: flu vaccine We all got our flu shots in October. Guest guest
Jerri - Funny - my pediatrician told me the same thing yesterday - that the flu vaccine, which is made based on what flu they expect to hit was a huge flop this year. Said they had 180 kids through their office on Monday - a record for them (it's a big office) and that no kidding they had 50 confirmed cases, and about 20 they were sure were false negatives on the rapid test. He actually gave us some Rx's for tamiflu and told us to hang on to them, that he didn't want us coming into the office just to get tamaflu based on what he is seeing.
