Swelling skin on lower arms and legs

Following 5 cycles of FCR finishing in Feb 2011, I had 10-12

weeks of good health until the arrival of painful

inflammations of raised skin 1-5 inches in the fatty area

just under the skin of first my lower arms and then lower

legs.

Following a biopsy, it was diagnosed as Erythema Nodosum

which normally spontaneously regresses after 3-4 weeks.

However no cause has been found and following treatment with

anti-inflammatory agents Ibruprofen and Prednisolone, now 5

months later the condition remains and any basic exercise

beyond 20-30mins walking inflames the skin more.

If anyone else has had similar symptoms and has found a

treatment I would be grateful to know.

There is really nothing beyond what you have already done.

I have had a couple of episodes or EN and have been lucky

enough to have them resolve completely.

I understand that is not always the case for some people.

Like any other disease, EN can affect some minimally and

other suffer greatly from it.

Perhaps you can have your doctor prescribe another round of

steroids and Ibruprofen to see if that can help resolve it.
