Guest guest Posted January 16, 2008 Report Share Posted January 16, 2008 I just wanted to inform everyone of a model of care of which I have just recently been introduced. This residential option is a form of a CILA that takes place in a true family setting. I believe that it is a wonderful option as it really integrates individuals into the community. In this model of care an individual with a developmental disability is matched with a host family or host individual with whom they live instead of living in a group home or institution. The host family is paid a stipend to pay for the individual's care and must follow state regulations and licensing standards. If anyone is interested in learning more about this program or becoming a host family please let me know as I would be happy to share information.
