I am currently working on my doctoral dissertation which is assessing the experience of individuals (ages 18-30) who have a sibling diagnosed with a disability. I am assessing positive effects of having a sibling diagnosed with a disability, specifically the acceptance levels for others with disabilities. Familial factors such as parenting care and protection will be assessed as possible factors contributing to these acceptance/tolerance attitudes and behaviors. All information is being collected through the use of questionnaires and will be kept strictly confidential. It can be arranged for questionnaires to be mailed to interested participants. Questionnaires take approximately 15 minutes to complete. By way of thanking participants, there will be a raffle held for a gift certificate to Best Buy.
