Guest guest
, just re did my new info. should there be a place to indicate a change in prognostic's prior to or post treatment. mine were entirely diff prior to treatment than at dx. just a thought. thanks for doing this. What was interesting to me were the number of women vs men is more even than I think we've been accustomed to hearing/reading. and the age at DX is far lower than what is seen in the literature. beth fillman
Guest guest
Beth Re Prognostics. I feel that your point is valid. I will consider on the next release updating and asking if these have changed. The reason for the diagnostic age being lower may be down to a number of factors: .. Earlier detection through routine blood tests is resulting in more people being diagnosed earlier. .. The results may be biased towards a younger generation as a result of them being more literate/comfortable with the use of Forums and on-line resources. Re male verses female. I don't have an explanation for this yet. Regards
Guest guest
, thanks. The 'usual' explanation for 'more female' has been that women tend to seek medical help sooner, but in a situation where in years past we've heard that in CLL the stats were indicating more male than female that didn't apply.... The 'impression' was so prevalent that when I was diagnosed I was told CLL was 'the old man's disease'.... puzzled me since I was a member of neither of those clubs. thanks again for doing this. Even if this is a work in progress, it's a valid and valiant attempt to connect more dots. Progress only follows a challenge to the status quo. keep up the good work. beth fillman
