Northern IL Info Sessions

If anyone would like to post these Northern IL Information Sessions

for the families to learn more about Managing the Art of Living a

new grant funded in Partnership with the IL Council on Developmental

Disabilities, I will post it here. These are for all of IL but it is

being rolled down the state. The next information meetings after

these in Highland Park and Rockford will be in March in Decatur.

Then Effingham after that. Happy New Year to All of you

project of the Illinois Council on Developmental Disabilities.

It offers Illinois self-advocates, families and friends the

opportunity to bring resources, authority and responsibility directly

into the hands of the people whose lives are most affected by the way

services are organized.

INFORMATION SESSIONS

HUMAN SERVICE COOPERATIVES & MICROBOARDS

Attend an Information Session and learn about:

Human Service atives:

~ What a Human Service cooperative is;

~ What it means to be a member of a H.S. cooperative;

~ What other H.S. cooperatives are doing;

~ The proven steps to set up a H.S cooperative;

~ How governing your own cooperative gives you choice and power over

services and your life.

Microboards:

~What a Microboard is and is not.

~An overview of the person-centered process used to help individuals

and their families create Microboards

~Examples of Microboard success stories

~Pitfalls that Microboards should avoid in order to prosper

~How to get involved in the Managing the Art of Living project
