Guest guest
My husband, , was treated in 2008-2009 with RFC and got a CR. He has been doing great. But after the flu shot ten days ago, he has had increased night sweats and node enlargement. To our memories this has never happened before with the flu shot. He has also felt achy during the day and that is not going away. I want to believe it's something with this particular flu shot, but we are more concerned that he could be coming out of remission. We see the doctor in another ten days. Will keep you posted. Thanks for your post. Beth Havey
Guest guest
Connie In 2001 I received the flu shot. The arm that received the injection resulted in the node increasing in size to about the size of a peach. This lasted for about 2 weeks. As this point in time I had not received treatment. Since then I have not had the flu vaccine. Regards,
Guest guest
It is not unusual for CLL lymph nodes to swell in response to vaccinations or infections. Hopefully this lymph node will return to its previous size after the flu vaccine's effect subsides. It usually takes 5-7 days. Another option would be just a small dose of steroids. Rituximab or other treatment for the CLL would unlikely be necessary as the " flare " is not real progression. Rick Furman, MD
