Guest guest
Hi, I'm fairly new to the group, it's only been about 2 months. This is the first time I'm writing in to the group, but I have found the emails and replies very informative. Firstly, a special thanks to the people that started this group. I've found that not many people are familiar with CLL (versus ALL or AML) and to that end, this group has been very helpful. I was recently diagnosed with CLL and am 35 female (probably hard to figure out from my name). My IgVH gene is mutated. I'm wondering if anyone could share any info on CLL and whether it is hereditary? I don't have children yet, but hope to some day. I'm looking to find out what the chance of me passing on CLL to any future children are? or if they would be at a higher risk for any other leukemia or lymphoma? I've read mixed things on the topic. Some say it is hereditary and the chances of first degree relative having it are 6-7 and other sites say the risk is nominal. This obviously plays a key part in my decision to freeze my eggs for potential future use. Any insight is much appreciated? Thanks, Unity
