Guest guest
Thanks Rick, but that does not help me regards insurance billing. I will call the hospital billing department and see if they can't shed light on how and why they bill this test the way they did. I was just hoping someone knew how it was classified within the lab that does the test. laura c Rick Furman, MD wrote: Flow cytometry is a test where the proteins on or inside the cell are tested for using monoclonal antibodies that are fluourescently labeled. It can be done on bone marrow or blood. Cody wrote: What kind of test is a flow cytometry? Is it a blood test, or a DNA test, part of a biopsy or what? The reason I am asking is because I don't understand the insurance billing on this test. My Insurance pays 100% of blood tests, although in this case it was done on the BMB and I am being billed over 33% of the bill. So I would appreciate any info anyone has to help me understand.
