What kind of test is a flow cytometry? Is it a blood test,

or a DNA test, part of a biopsy or what?

The reason I am asking is because I don't understand the

insurance billing on this test.

My Insurance pays 100% of blood tests, although in this case

it was done on the BMB and I am being billed over 33% of the

bill.

So I would appreciate any info anyone has to help me

understand.

Flow cytometry is a test where the proteins on or inside the

cell are tested for using monoclonal antibodies that are

fluourescently labeled. It can be done on bone marrow or

blood.
