Guest guest
Anyone with SLL dx have insight on liver involvement. Started with CLL (low level), and liver biopsy (investigating a growth) found CLL cells, or technically SLL cells. The staging of SLL has liver involvement at stage IV, but otherwise I'm stage O for CLL. No nodes can be felt. Joe
Guest guest
It is really important to treat SLL and CLL as the same diagnosis. Patients diagnosed as SLL should not be staged using the " lymphoma " staging methods. They should be staged using the CLL staging methods (Rai or Binet). (These are described in detail on the CIG website). Regarding liver involvement, it is important to remember that Rai stage II is hepatomegaly and/or splenomegaly, not just splenomegaly. Any liver biopsy will show some CLL, just like any spleen or bone marrow biopsy would. Having CLL in the liver is expected. We are often confronted with CLL patients who have a liver problem and the liver biopsy demonstrates CLL. It is almost always that the CLL is just there and not causing problems.
