Guest guest
Hi Marilyn, As an example of a course of prophylactics, my hem/onc prescribed the following starting in July 2009 just before 6 X FCR to treat my CLL (not Richter's), and continuing to today. Acyclovir antiviral, 400 mg, 3 per day Bactrim DS antibacterial, 2 per day on Mon, Wed, and Fri Fluconazole antifungal, 100 mg per day He also prescribed Tamiflu to be kept on hand at home, in event flu symptoms emerged. Following FCR my B- and T-cells were profoundly suppressed and IgG, M, and A hovered at the low end or just below the lower normal limit (hypoglobulinemia). Since treatment I've been in complete clinical remission, but MRD positive. Over the last two years have not had even a cold. The regimen described above is, of course, fitted to my case by my doctor; your situation and requirements may be different as determined by your doctor.
