Last year at this time my wife was hospitalized for

exaggerated response to mosquito bites. The areas became

boil like lesions and the next day started weeping. She was

placed in isolation and after biopsies and scrapping the

lesions they couldn't come up with an answer. They said it

was a response from the Dapsone she was taking. I had read

an article that this could happen to a CLL patient.

They did a BM in hospital and informed us that her CLL had

indeed returned and now she also had acquired MDS. Both her

CLL and MDS are progressing at this time. She got a

mosquito bite yesterday on her leg and today the area

blistered and her leg and thigh are swollen. She is wrapping

the area in warm wet towels and I gave her 2 Benadryls to

take this evening. The summer just started and it's only 1

bite. Has anyone else had this problem?

Hal
