I got pregnant when brady was 9 months. He nursed until 2 1/2 . I did decrease, but depending on the age of the first child, they may still ant to nurse. Often, an older child will not like the taste once the colostrum starts to come in and ill stop on their own. www.diapers.bizland.com

Guest guest
My supply dropped very, very low around 20 weeks. Since nursing was causing a lot of pain and Spencer didn't seem to care one way or another about it (only nursed 1 or 2X a day and only when I offered), I stopped offering. He weaned quickly. I know several people who nursed throughout pregnancy, but they had more enthusiastic nursers. I don't think it will actually " dry up " unless you completely stop nursing. Guest guest
Depends on the person. My milk certainly decreased and my daughter weaned herself around the 12-15 wk spot in my pregnancy. In a way I was glad she weaned as nursing her and having a difficult pregnancy was hard. I have heard of great successes with nursing the entire pregnancy with no problems. Guest guest
My son called the colostrum yucky milk, but that didn't deter him into weaning AT ALL! lol ;-) He still drank it, and did so all thru my preg despite having little to no milk at times > In a message dated 6/26/00 4:18:21 PM Eastern Daylight Time, nnu29@a... > writes: > > << Alright I am being told my breastmilk will NOT dry up if I am pregnant, but > from others I heard it does around the 12th week. > So does anyone know?I know everyone is different, but for most it seems to > dry > up.Sara >> > > > I don't know from personal experience, but I had a friend who was PG and > nursed the entire time...her milk didn't dry up...but it did change back > towards colustrum before she gave birth...her daughter weaned herself around > that time. > > HTH > > Jo
Guest guest
Sara, I'm on a couple of breastfeeding lists, and those that choose to tandem nurse do so easily. Your milk will only dry up if you wean your current bfing baby. Guest guest
sorry it is a reply to a week ago - I am still getting caught up on messages! Anyway - my son is 18 1/2 mos old and I got pregnant with #2 when he was 13 mos old. Around 15-16 mos old my milk dried up, there is literally nothing there. However, still nurses for comfort and to go to sleep. I hope to tandem nurse when the milk comes back in for his immune protection -that is if he wants to! So, it does happen! vicky mom to unvaccinated 12/15/98, #2 due 10/
