Guest guest
Thank you to everyone who has been so kindly helping me along this CLL journey with my father. The last 72 hours have been spent trying to research and educate myself and my siblings as much about this disease as possible. With your help, I feel like we have at least a plan to help our Dad. Today he saw his oncologist who informed him that the CAT Scan showed the mass " a size of a small football " was (a) swollen lymph node(s). His RBC is normal; and his WBC is 63,000. We will not receive the lymph node biopsy until tomorrow afternoon. They took a bone marrow test today and we will have those results on Wednesday. His doc has recommended Rituxan coupled with either Treanda or RCHOP, depending on the results of the biopsy and marrow. They want him to start the chemo on Thursday for six three-week cycles. We tried to get him into see Dr. Kipps but will be seeing Dr. tomorrow who will be our second opinion. I am hoping I hear from some of you if there are certain questions we should be asking or things we should be considering. This is happening so fast, I want to make sure we have made enough inquires in order for him to make an informed decision. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, in advance, for your ongoing support.
