Guest guest
, I agree with your comment about the aggressive docs. I believe I had treatments the first time too early. Platelets and Hgb. were within normal ranges--150,000 and 13, with no other symptoms except fatigue and some shortness of breath. I am going to MDA for next round of treatments. I am borderline now--platelets up and down with last one being 103,000 and Hgb. 11.9. My local doctor is telling me I need treatments now and is creating a lot of anxiety for me. I was at MDA in April, and they are saying things are not much worse now, even though my platelets were 120,000 at that time. However, the year before they had been 106,000. They have been bouncing around for about two years. I believe they want two or three consecutive blood tests below 100,000 before treating at MDA. I am getting really fatigued and short of breath. Can anyone comment on exactly what their numbers were when they began treatment? Also, my Dad has CLL, diagnosed in 2008. His WBC has been in the low to middle 30,000's for three years. However, at his recent oncology visit WBC was up to 40,000. I am wondering if B-12 injections or prednisone injections for arthritis can increase the WBC. He is getting both periodically. wrote: How are his other counts, red, platelets? Does he have swollen lymph nodes? Where? No " B " symptoms? No night sweats, fatigue, ? Try to resist aggressive docs who want to begin treatment right away, unless they have a good reason.
