Jenn,

My wife used Dr. Ki-Young Suh at UCLA. (310) 825-6301.

I don't know how extensive her knowledge is of CLL. My wife

has CLL/SLL and Lupus. She had a full body rash that was

quite painful. Dr. Suh was very thorough and attentive. She

went as far as small biopsies to determine the exact cause.

Turns out it was not CLL but rather Lupus. She treated with

meds and cream. Cleared it up. She also recommended a

specific sunscreen.

Again, very thorough, very caring and got the job done. She

also has the resources of UCLA to draw from. Sharon's

Onc/Hematologist is also at UCLA.

Hope this helps. My best to you.

BTW, I'm not fond of docs that pass off a " don't worry " . I'm

not into excessive worry but I take everything seriously

when it comes to her health. I want to know her doctors take

any concern seriously.

I'd like to piggy back onto this - I live in Ventura County

(Calif.) and need to find a dermtologist who understands the

CLL/skin cancer risk. Does anyone know of a dermatologist in

Westlake, Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Camarillo, Oxnard, or

Ventura?

Thank you - Patti K

Patti - I have struck out with 4 dermatologists in the

Ventura area. Three were show me what you want me to look at

types - 5 minutes in and out. The 4th on a scale of

conservative to out there was way beyond WAY out there. My

HMO allows me to go to some local people, but also has a

contract with UCLA, so I will be asking my hematologist

there about someone. Brett's suggestion sounds like a

winner.
