Guest guest
Hello Sue, Mom of I am Annie, Mom of , 23 years old, dx'd last year 6th March, doing very well on 400mg gleevec. He is one of the 'lucky' cml-ers with no remarkable side effects except a newly found lease of life! :-) I heard your smile in this email and just had to respond with a big cyber *HUG*. May and Gleevec whip those phillies right into submission and make them extinct! I know this will put a special kind of peace into your life...... And yes, Lottie is wonderful! :-) With love and understanding Annie www.livingwithcml.blogspot.com > > and Others: > My daughter was all set to switchto Sprycel due to the horrendous side effects she was having on Gleevec, 800 mg. But a wonderful thing happened....after 18 months she finally went into a 3-log reduction! Those allusive Phillies are finally succumbing the Gleevec. We are so overjoyed and relieved. Yep, she still has debilitating side effects but this is about fighting cancer and she is winning THAT fight. She will continue to try to find ways to have a good quality of life while fighting this battle. We are overjoyed about the 3-log and her doctor at OHSU feels she should stay on the Gleevec afterall and we are in agreement. > > And Lottie, I want to thank you again for all the information and support you provided. > > Sue...mom of , age 34, diagnosed 5/13/05, gleevec 600 5/28/05, changed to 800 mg. late september 2006. 3-log december 2006. > > > --------------------------------- > Be a PS3 game guru. > Get your game face on with the latest PS3 news and previews at Games. > >

Guest guest
Sue, That's wonderful news for you and . Congratulations! If you don't mind my asking, can you describe 's side effects on Gleevec? I'm PCRU on Gleevec, but I too have side effects (some physical, but mostly extreme fatigue and cognitive stuff like memory loss, impaired focus and concentration, etc.) Warm regards. > > and Others: > My daughter was all set to switchto Sprycel due to the horrendous side effects she was having on Gleevec, 800 mg. Guest guest
Hi , Have you ever tried taking Magnesium for your fatigue and cognitive issues? Gleevec seems to deplete various electrolytes in some people (phosphorus, potassium etc) and if you read the symptoms of magnesium deficiency, you'll see that extreme fatigue, muscle cramps and impaired cognitive function are all listed as symptoms. A word of caution though, magnesium is a powerful laxative Tracey > > > > and Others: > > My daughter was all set to switchto Sprycel due to the > horrendous side effects she was having on Gleevec, 800 mg.
