Guest guest
Hi Denice, Statistically speaking, there are far more Americans on this list than any other group but for some reason, the Canadians do seem to do a lot of the posting. I guess we're a chatty bunch Tracey --- In , denice landry <daiseymillertoo@...> wrote: > > So much of the email comes from Canada and other states, I was wondering if any members of this group live in Houston. > If so, I would like to establish an informal social/support group, if there is any interest. > An ear and a laugh is so important for all of us! > God bless all, > Denice > > > --------------------------------- > Need a quick answer? Guest guest
Hi Denice, Don't worry for a second that you might have bad genes that could be passed to your grandchildren. All of the experts agree that CML is NOT inherited and there is no chance that you can pass the Philadelphia chromosome on to your off spring. The mutation that causes CML is " acquired " which means that you developed it sometime during your life, you weren't born with it and you can't pass it on. Take care, Tracey
Guest guest
HMMM, I for one am of the few who believe that CML/CLL is inherited. My dads moms dad had CML, my dads moms brother had CML/CLL, and my dads moms sisters son had CML, and my dads daughter <ME> has CML. Now, this is unusual, and all the experts say it is not familial, but looking at my history it most definitely is! It is all on one side, one line, and doesn't miss a generation. I have reported it time and time again.....NOTHING. I would think that it would be at least worth looking at. HERE is HOPING I do not develope the CLL too. My second cousin was diagnosed young, same age as I was 34, and he passed at 37, at least I past that mark now. I'm not trying to be negative, and , please don't fret. I just want to share my history. Happy Weekend to you all! Amy B.
Guest guest
Hello Just wanted 2 put in my 2 cents. My moms mom also had Leukemia when she was in her 30's, she never made it to her 40s. I got DX with CML when I was 22. They docotrs say it does not run in the family but its a little odd, how this has happened in some many familys. > > HMMM, I for one am of the few who believe that CML/CLL is inherited. > My dads moms dad had CML, my dads moms brother had CML/CLL, and my dads > moms sisters son had CML, and my dads daughter <ME> has CML. Guest guest
I agree with Amy about it being inherited...My grandfather had CML and died of it at the age of 37 in 1938 (he was sick for 9 months) I've had CML for 4 years and am doing great thanx to gleevec...andi > > HMMM, I for one am of the few who believe that CML/CLL is inherited. > My dads moms dad had CML, my dads moms brother had CML/CLL, and my dads > moms sisters son had CML, and my dads daughter <ME> has CML.
