Guest guest
Hi Nick Thanks for your response I have had adrenals tested four months ago and the results were Sampl 1 14.9 (12-22) Sample 2 5.5 (5.00-9.0) Sample 3 1.1 (3.00-7.0) Sample 4 0.9 (1.0-3.0) DHEA Mean 0.31 (0.20-0.70) DHEA Cortisol Ratio 1.38 (0.6-3.0) I also had short Syn test and results came bacl ok. My B12 is low in range and I have been taking supplement and it has increased well in the last month. My folate was also low in range and I'm taking supplements. All my other iron bloods are fine and ok in the range. My last results on T4 100mcgs taken in Nov are as follows TSH 0.06 (0.20-6.00) its been supressed for the last 8 mths. FT4 16.4 (10-25) FT3 3.5 (3-6.2) Because I was feeling so ill with many hypo symptoms and my T3 is low i thought the addition of T3 would be a good way to go and luckily my Endo supported my plea! Iron " in range " or OK?? http://thyroid-rt3.com/iron.htm talks about iron labs > >My last results on T4 100mcgs taken in Nov are as follows >TSH 0.06 (0.20-6.00) its been supressed for the last 8 mths. >FT4 16.4 (10-25) >FT3 3.5 (3-6.2) Horribly hypo, you are not converting >Because I was feeling so ill with many hypo symptoms and my T3 is low i thought the addition of T3 would be a good way to go and luckily my Endo supported my plea! The way to go, if you are getting these symptoms they are intolerance rather than hyper and you need to locate and treat the cause of the intolerance, adrenals are a big suspect with those saliva results http://thyroid-rt3.com/adrenals.htm talks about adrenals, some temperature checks as per Dr Rind on your current thyroid dose of T3 would be a good start. Guest guest
Han, your body doesn't use T4 - it has to convert to the active thyroid hormone T3 - this is the hormone your body uses. If you were converting the T4 into T3 well, you wouldn't need T3. I still believe you could be suffering one of the associated conditions that goes along with hypothyroidism that is stopping the thyroid hormone from getting into your cells and is probably lying in your blood with nowhere to go and giving you the symptoms of toxicity. EVERYTHING mentioned in the document I posted previously should be thoroughly checked to ensure this is not the case. Remind us of your thyroid function test results when you were taking synthetic thyroxine only. Luv - Sheila My Endo has recently put me on T3/t4 and I am feeling more unwell trying to introduce T3. I would very much appreciate any advice/suggestions please. I was previously taking 100mcgs Thyroxine for many years but during the last 6 mths I have had symptoms of hyper/ hypo and have had many changes to T4 and various tests over the 6 mths. Only thing that has come up so far is deficiency in Vit D - I'm taking supplement. My Endo eventually agreed to try adding T3. He prescribed 20mcgs twice a day along with 50mcg T4. As the dose of T3 prescribed is very hefty I have been cautious with the introduction of T3. I started with 5mcgs twice a day for 4 days and then increased to 5mcgs x 3 daily. However I felt ?hyper- headache, worse fatigue and a feeling of being spaced out. I then went a day without taking any T3 and have just started on 5mcgs again this am. I feel that my body is missing the T4 as I am only taking 50mcgs. I'm finding it all v confusing and difficult to manage. My Endo suggested that if I went hyper I was to stop the T3 and go back on 100mcgs. However This advice was given on him thinking I was taking 40mcgs daily! Can't imagine I would ever reach that dose! Thanks Han
Guest guest
Hi Nick thanks again four your helpful comments. Other than taking Vit C ,selenium , folic acid,B12 I am not taking adrenal support. What do you suggest? Would Nutri Adrenal Extract be ok as a place to start? I am worried to begin adding another pill whilst I'm trying to tolerate T3 but if it's necessary I will indeed heed advice. My pulse has been low for the past 6 mths while I have been unwell, usually around 50 - 55 With the addition of T3 it has picked up slightly getting to 66. My Temp likewise has been v low usually 35.9 - 36.3 - Even though I brought this to the attention of GP and Endo and produced a monthly graph of T and P they never really seemed that interested! Since starting T3 (even though I have only had a small amount) my temp is now around 36.6 I do agree with you that I am probably experiencing intolerance to T3 and I would once again value your input Han > > > > >Hi Nick Thanks for your response > >I have had adrenals tested four months ago and the results were

Guest guest
Han, if you have an adrenal problem, it matters not how much thyroid hormone you are taking - it can't be properly absorbed into the cells until your adrenal problem has been sorted - so you need to find out how bad (or good) your adrenals are. If you cannot afford the 24 hour salivary adrenal profile done by Genova - then do the Adrenal Questionnaire that is in the Adrenal FOLDER (you can get there by clicking FILES in the Menu on the Home Page of this forum. After you have done the questionnaire and got your score, let us know what this is. At the same time, do the 'Home Testing' to see how you score there too. If you score high, then you need to start taking Nutri Adrenal Extra (see our FILES section again and scroll down to 'Discounts on Tests and Supplements' and click on 'Nutri Ltd' where TPA members can get 33% discount. It is best, if possible, when starting to boost your adrenals to stop all thyroid hormone replacement for a few days and just take one Nutri Adrenal Extra with your breakfast. After 7 days, start taking your thyroid hormone replacement again and add another NAE with your lunch (you don't take any NAE after 1.00p.m.) In another 7 to 9 days, add another tablet with your breakfast and keep increasing in this way until you start to positively feel better and stay on that dose for a while. Some people do fine on 2 tablets daily, others need 3 or 4, but you can take up to 6 tablets daily if your adrenals are really low. Only THEN will your thyroid hormone start working properly. However, you must not forget that you need also to ensure your ferritin, B12, D3, magnesium, folate, copper and zinc levels also need to be at the right level too. Do you know if there is a possibility you might be suffering with Candida? I may have asked this question before but can't remember the answer. Guest guest
Then you definitely need to start taking Nutri Adrenal Extra with high dose vitamin C and Siberian Ginseng which you can buy from your health food store. If you telephone at Nutri Ltd and tell him you are a member of TPA you will get your discount and you will receive the tablets tomorrow as they send out their goodies immediately.
