Guest guest
My daughter was diagnosed with Hashis 2 yrs ago and what i thought were low antibody levels Prior to this she had had severe Endometriosis from age 16 Gall bladder removed age 23 Very disturbed Liver function tests even after the Cholysystectomy Recurrant Thrush recently High ESR Constant infections Iritis Fibromyalgia No real surprise since her Father had both Graves and Hashis running in tandem not that the idiots reconised this 30 yrs ago .......he was treated with first Carbimazole then a sub total thyroidectomy and years of utter hell because his blood tests were "normal " when actally he was severely hypo and had all 3 antibody levels off the scale .......only after more miserable years going nowhere on Thyroxine and added Seroxat. thenT3 and finally Armour did a reasonable quality of life emerge Our daughter remained ill despite Thyroxine and T3 and only after refusing to push levels higher did the endo decide to do a TRH test This showed no response from the pituarity hence an MRI was done today Apparently Hypophysitis has now been diagnosed ...............this is so rare i am struggling like hell to find info even on Google Scholar .............i dare not begin to think of what her prognosis is or the future of her 4 children but it goes to prove you simply cannot ever believe GPs and Endos you have to make a darn nuiscance of yourself until they find out what is truly wrong It was also only last week he told her that her Thyroid Antibodies were sky high ......they must have changed the reference ranges from when my husband was ill This scenario also proves that Genetic referrals are also vital since we have no clue where my husband inherited his thyroid disease from and even less idea why our daughter has inherited such a raw deal since extremely healthy food and lifestyle has always been our mantra I would therefore caution all those with Thyroid Disease who are hell bent on having children I was totally healthy but my husband was heading for Graves Disease when i fell pregnant I love my grandchildren to bits but oh how i worry what the future holds for them Pat
