Hi all,I'm sure I saw something on this forum about a reaction with Lisinopril and Armour, can anyone enlighten me? I would be grateful, thanks.Saw my GP today, first time in about 18 months, she asked me if I'd lost weight, said I looked soooooooo much better but said my BP was a bit high, (not surprising after the stressful time I've had since Saturday afternoon!!)Anyway she said I should take this Lisinopril as well as my Indapamide and I have to get my kidney function checked in four weeks. She also weighed me and said I've lost about 3 stone since 2009 when she last weighed me. I asked her about a new Nitrolingual spray for my angina, though I have not had an angina attack since I started Armour 3 years ago. She said that I obviously didn't need it!! Great, one less thing to worry about!!Glynis

Hi Glynis

I am new on this site so know nothing about thryoid meds etc. but I have had arthritis for years and one of the medications I was given was Lisinporil. This gave me very high blood pressure and unfortunately it stays with you for life even though I never had the slightest problem before. They didnt warn me of that happening. I was on it for about 20 months and had to come off because of hypertension and a few other problems but that was about 6 years ago - and I still have high blood pressure that needs medication. I think it says something about this in the pamphlet that comes with the medication. It may not happen to you hopefully - but just a warning!

I am on thryoxine that doesnt seem to be working for me and have just found out what blood tests to get done and go from there. Now for the GP !!!

Regards

Colleen

Hi Glynis

PLEASE IGNORE MY LAST POST. SORRY SORRY SORRY. I got Lisinporil mixed up with one that I took before called Leflunomide for my arthritis!!! Obviously Lisinopril is for your blood pressure. I am so sorry. As you can tell, I definitely need my meds sorted out as I am in such a brain fog that I can hardly function.

I think I will stop posting until I get myself sorted out - I will cause problems otherwise!

HI ALL

I too was put on Lisinopril, and I was also on Amlodipine, Pimozide, Pitzotifen,

Omprazole, Cisapride and Thyroxine before placed on Lisinopril as well. My BP

kept rising, so did my weight. At the end of 14 years on Pimozide my health was

very bad coupled with incontinence and breast cancer. They operated on the

cancer, but my health was too bad as BP had risen to deal with the bladder

problem. I also ended up very ill with an electrolye problem again bought on by

a drug Tamoxifen which caused a large polyp to fill the whole of the womb. I

changed GP'S at this point as most of you would have.

After comming off Pimozide I was able to come off the rest of the drugs.

I also found that BP pills were causing me to feel rough in the mornings, and

taking my own BP it dropped very low, and felt better without.

If your BP is low and you then have to take another pill things get worse. My BP

rose again having been off BP pills after a while.

However I tried taking them again at different times in the day, and it would

drop too low, even resorting to half a pill.

In the end I decided no more BP pills for me, although they did have to give me

one Amlodipine pill after recent surgery after my BP rose too high.

Pimozide is the drug that caused me a host of problems.
