Guest guest
Hi Fi - a TSH of 4.88 is FAR too high. A 'normal' person's TSH is around 1.0, or it could be less. He needs to get his free T4 and free T3 tested and also get tested to see whether he has antibodies to his thyroid. If he has any members of his family with a thyroid or autoimmune disease he should tell his doctor this, and ask for a referral to an endocrinologist if his doctor refuses to take this matter further. I too would be concerned with a TSH that high. Luv - Sheila I am concerned for my partner, he has recently had blood tests done which show that his TSH is 4.88, which I feel is quite low. He has developed what the doctor feels are neurological symptoms, i.e. hand and arm shaking uncontrollably, and eye twitching. He also suffers joint pain. Doctor says 4.88 TSH is fine, I am inclined to dissagree. Any thoughts??? Hope everyone is keeping well.
Guest guest
Hi Shelia, Many thanks! - I had a strange feeling you would say this. It's so helpful to have your reply, so that I may print this out for him. I don't think you will be too surprised when I tell you that the doctor told him that his TSH was normal - sigh! (If you had a pound for every time you heard this!). He has been referred to a neurologist, as you say he needs to see an endocrine specialist, first port of call. Many thanks for you reply. I think it would be helpful for him to join Thyroid org. Best wishes Fi > > Hi Fi - a TSH of 4.88 is FAR too high. A 'normal' person's TSH is around > 1.0, or it could be less.
