NO - you do not " take the full dose of natural desiccated

thyroid hormone. You don't even know what a full dose is - and you must also

remember that now, you are going to be taking the ACTIVE thyroid hormones T3,

T2, T1 and also adding calcitonin too to the T4 (which is a mainly INACTIVE

thyroid hormone. Go to our FILES section accessible from the Home Page of this

forum thyroid treatment

and click on the NATURAL THYROID EXTRACT folder. On the Page that opens, click

on 'HOW TO TREAT USING NATURAL THYROID EXTRACT' and read everything that is

there and make sure you thoroughly understand and digest everything that is

there. Anything you do not understand, just shout.

I stopped my synthetic levothyroxine on one day, and started by

taking half a grain (30mgs) of NDT the next, and built up in the way it is

recommended in that document.

I'm going to be trying out NDT. Now, do I just stop taking

the synthetic and take a full dose of hte NDT? Or do I gradually decrease the

synth and increase the NDT?

Thanks for the rant Sheila, I decided to split each dose for 2 weeks then go completely on Armour. Day 2 and I feel fine. My temps are a bit low, but that's to be expected as my body figures out what to do with T3, T2, T1, Cortisol that it's been starved for over the past 6 months.
