Guest guest
I have Pains in most of my joints...feet,ankles,knees,hips,shoulders,elbows,wrists, both sets of knuckles. Both sides are affected equally. I've had it to some degree for ages so I do not contribute it to the Armour...I have had the pains mildly at first. Now they feel swollen but don't look it. They often throb or just plain hurt. My hands right now feel hot and my fingers are red but the palms are normal colour. Last appointment and tests I had done with the doctor found nothing in the way of Rheumatoid type inflammation( the dreaded normal tests). So he gave me Meloxicom pain relief and told me it was most likely synovitis (an inflammation of the joint fluid). I took the tablets for a month and they helped a great deal...but you can't really go on them long term. I was Ok for about three weeks after coming off the tablets and the pains started creeping back. At the moment I have to take Co-Codamol just to ease it enough to sleep..but then makes me drowsy the next day. I have a low tolerance to pain meds...half the usual dose makes me tired for ages.I will let you know what the doc says but I have an idea he will just give me the tablets again...much easier than really finding out what is wrong...CheersJ>> , what are the joint pains like? > Good Luck> j>
Guest guest
Hi , Unfortunately when the metabolism is corrected or indeed 'speeded up' it will uncover all sorts of other deficiencies. I remember reading in one of my many books on the subject of thyroid disease, metabolism etc. quote: and beware if you have any other deficiencies because it is now you will find them - unquote. Three days ago I pushed up my ERFA dose by another 15 mg - I was in agony - all my joints ached like mad - it brought back very bad memories of suffering for many years with this pain - I realised my adrenals were under pressure from the extra ERFA and whilst I take cortisol - I did not want to take any more - so I gave my adrenals a push via another route - I took Vitamin C 1,000 mg and took Selenium in a higher dose - and although it took a day the pains have gone and low and behold I seem to be tolerating the extra ERFA - the joint pains are excruciating I know - they woke me in the middle of the night they were so bad - but if you take pain killers I believe it will make them worse. It isn't necessarily the Armour that is causing this (in my opinion) it is strain the Armour is putting on your system as it finds other issues. If you are taking other drugs too this may cause a cross over of symptoms. Hope this helps. Best wishes Mandy
Guest guest
Thanks Mandy and - I will plod on with my joint pains, but Selenium is something I could try - although it is in the Thyro Complex I take - anyone know how much to take? I really must try and get all my vitamins checked. I know the Iron Ferritin is only 51, but am supplementing . B12 is fine - over 1000 and supplementing but need to know D3 and I bet they won't do that. Thanks again J > > Hi , > > Unfortunately when the metabolism is corrected or indeed 'speeded up' it > will uncover all sorts of other deficiencies. Guest guest
have you considered that it is the thyro complex that is reacting with the Armour - sometimes you have to adjust what you are taking when you add something new to the pot. These products are quite strong (the complex I mean) and you may not need it now you are on Armour. Best wishes Mandy

Guest guest
Everybody who has symptoms of hypothyroidism should be taking 200mcgs Selenium daily, plus 15mgs zinc. You can bet your Vitamin D3 is very low. Daily Recommended Dose is quite ridiculous at 4/500 IU/day but in reality, for those again with symptoms of hypothyroidism especially, you need to be taking at least 4/5000 IU/day daily. Some people take doses as high as 20,000 IU/day. See http://www.vitamindcouncil.org/treatment.shtml Luv - Sheila Thanks Mandy and - I will plod on with my joint pains, but Selenium is something I could try - although it is in the Thyro Complex I take - anyone know how much to take?
