Guest guest
Hi Shelia, It's ! Up until July last year I was on 200mcg levo which I have to say was sending me potty!!! My memory was appauling and I was like a mad women. The new Dr(from your list)decided I was toxic and to reduce my meds immediately to 150mcg which we did. When I returned to see him in the September I had put on 2 stone, however I was no longer ratty and shouting at the kids. I was a lot calmer but extremely miserable with the weight gain baring in mind that I was at least 2 stone overweight before I saw him. My medication in September was changed to 2 grains of ERFA. When I went back in November my basal temp had risen slightly and the weight had stabalised so he decided that as I was on quite a high dose he would try some homeopathy stuff for digestion/vit & minerals to see if that would help. Went back in January where he decided that actually that haden't helped and put me on another grain. So now I am on 3 grains ERFA 1 tablet in the morning and one in the afternoon. My average basal temp has risen to 36.1 - 36.3 but that is as high as it goes. I'm due to see him again on Thursday to see how things have gone. I don't see any change if i'm honest. I still have a low basal temp, I still ache like an old women (i'm only 42!) and until VLCD my weight was 13.13 no matter what I ate. I could pig out beyond belief and not loose or I could eat like a rabbit for days and still not loose!!!! Would appreciate your thoughts :-) Love x
Guest guest
Hi , Have you been checked for reverse T3? If the meds aren't making much difference and you've been toxic through having too much unconverted t4, chances are you have high amounts of reverse t3 so nothing can get in to the cells. Suggest you do a reverst t3 and a free t3 test, together on the same day, so you can see what the ratio is..... anyning under 20 is too much reverse t3. . > > Hi Shelia, > > It's ! Guest guest
Check out the attached document to see if any of these associated conditions might be a reason that your thyroid hormone replacement isn't working as it should. Ask your GP to check your levels of ferritin, vitamin B12, vitamin D3, magnesium, folate, copper and zinc and when you get these results, post them on the forum together with the reference range. Make sure you read all the attached information and if you can eliminate every single one as a possibility, we will take things from there, but you could well find the cause is there somewhere.
