Guest guest
I have just had my Thyroid Profile Tests results back from Lab 21 and would appreciate any comments/advice. I have been taking combination T450mcgs and T3 20mcgs prescribed by my Endo. Previously I was on T4100mcgs. I still have hypo symptoms. I notice the T4 is low, is this usual when on T3? Thanks Han Free T3 4.4 (3.0-6.2) Free T4 11.8 (12.0-22) TSH 0.05 (0.4-4.0)
Guest guest
Hannah T4 is low because you are on low dose at 50 mcg.... Still if you can't convert it, there isn't that much point in taking it..... it only builds up and causes problems.. If you have low stores of t4 then you need to make sure you take the t3 regularly. T3 could be higher. I was on 20 t3 and 50 t4 with similar results to yours, but when I doubled the t3 to 40 mcg, the level only went up to 5, I felt better but taking double the dose doesn't double the levels. ( I'm now on NT and things have improved) How is everything else? Ferritin, D3, Folate, Iron, Copper Zinc Candida, if any of these are too low your cells can't use the t3 no matter how nmuch you take of it.... > Previously I was on T4100mcgs. Guest guest
Hi hannah, T4 converts ( if we can) into T3, but not the other way round, so if you are getting enough T3 then a low T4 doesn't matter at all. You look as if you could do with a bit more T3 though! how do you feel now?> thyroid treatment > From: hannahleahy@...> Date: Tue, 22 Feb 2011 11:20:28 +0000> Subject: Test Results Advice Please> > I have just had my Thyroid Profile Tests results back from Lab 21 and would appreciate any comments/advice. Guest guest
Hi thanks for your reply. Still have hypo symptoms though a bit better since starting the T3, think I need to increase it - I can go up to 40mcgs T3 as thats what the Endo prescribed but my shaky adrenals have needed support whilst i am increasing, so I had to take it slowly.
