Guest guest
Can this be obtained without a prescription? Most of the sites seem to require one.I am taking armour but have heard Erfa might be better. My doctor wouldn't give me anything apart from thyroxine so I had to buy the armour myself. I have to say too I am now up to 2 grains and I THINK I may be starting to feel it a bit...not being desperately tired at night....still working on the mornings though. So if Erfa would work better I would love to try it instead....but how does one get a prescription if the doc wont listen? If there are any links or ideas please let me know.. Guest guest
For those of us happy enough on Erfa . . . .how do you know if T3 alone wouldn't be better? (or worse) sorry to be dense over this!
Guest guest
Yes, you can purchase this at www.valuepharmaceuticals.com - they say they are selling 'Armour Thyroid' but they are not, they are selling Erfa 'Thyroid' the Canadian licensed natural thyroid extract. It is much cheaper than Armour and for many of us, appears to be a bit more potent than Armour so you need less. Elsewhere in their web site they do state that the 'Armour' they sell is a 'generic " . I use Erfa and I like it very much and take 1 grain less than I used to take when taking the brand Armour. You can buy the Erfa 'Thyroid' without the need for a prescription and you will just need to tick the little box 'No prescription required' when placing your order. Guest guest
The best reason I know for natural thyroid hormone is that it has all the thyroid hormones your body requires T4 (for the brain) plus the active thyroid hormones T3, T2, T1 and also calcitonin for the bones. I wouldn't even want to try the experiment using just using synthetic T3 as I know NDT works best for me and has given me back my health. To turn the tables, how do you know whether NDT wouldn't be better (or worse) than T3 alone? Guest guest
Hi Dorothy: ERFA comes in mgs...... so they are correct....:0) I believe it is just the synthetic which is dosed in mcg. Cheers, JOT Have just noticed that in their email to me with reference to my order of natural thyroid they have stated 30mg tablets (should it not be 30mcg or is that just with synthetic?)
