Guest guest
Hi, you can get a 15:1 zinc/ copper supplement from Holland and Barrett, which neatly avoids this problem. thyroid treatment From: angel47572000@...Date: Sun, 6 Feb 2011 23:31:25 +0000Subject: zinc & copper hi. drawing your attention to the taking of zinc, you should not take this indefinitely but stop for a few weeks now and again., as it could deplete the copper and you may get an in balance.i take mine for a few months then have a little break. but I think if taking a little copper with it it should be ok to take without a break. someone may no more about this.!!! angel. Guest guest
To get my iron up I used 45 mg of zinc/day and 5 mg of copper everyother day with the iron tablets. I did it every other day for the copper because I couldn't find tablets small enough (in the 2 mg region). There is a very interesting site called www.ithyroid.com which has all sorts of good stuff about the relationship between copper, zinc and iron, particularly the ratio between each supplement so as not to deplete elsewhere. I based my iron raising protocol on that information and it worked very well for getting my ferritin up. Guest guest
A good way to get and maintain zinc in the system is drinking Rooibos red tea. It comes in many flavors and is said to be 50 times more full of antioxidants than green tea. http://www.mightyleaf.com/loose-tea_rooibos-tea/ After my adrenal fatigue, I could not go back to coffee, caffienated or de-caffienated...it sends my body into a tail spin. I discovered Rooibos Red tea and I think it was a blessing. Coffee depletes more nutrients than it gives us, so it's not a benefit for me. And another daily supplement to consider is by Swansons. I've been taking this for about a year now and I really like it. Scroll down for the list of ingredients to see if this is something you could take: http://www.swansonvitamins.com/SWU152/ItemDetail?n=0 Cheers, JOT
